Caligene Dragons, or Halloween 2015 Dragons, were the Holiday species given out during Halloween of 2015. Unlike dragons of other holidays, Halloween dragons can be either male or female and do not have a scroll limit set for them. They are only capable of producing more Caligene eggs during a certain period when Halloween is celebrated in October. They can still be bred to all year round, producing their partner's breed of egg.

The lack of a scroll limit for Halloween dragons was explained during one year's event by TJ09: "In the words of the pumpkin dragon's creator, Christmas and Valentine's Day are about giving, but Halloween is about grabbing as much candy for yourself as you can".

Under the old Breed sort, these dragons sorted as "Halloween 2015 Dragon" on a user's scroll. As of August 14, 2016, they now sort using their Encyclopedia name.

Official Dragon DescriptionsEdit

EggEdit

"The pattern on this egg’s shell is unsettling.."

HatchlingEdit

"Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It skitters around in the shadows, seemingly repelled by light."

Mature HatchlingEdit

"Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It skitters around in the shadows, seemingly repelled by light.
And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing."

AdultEdit

"Caligene Dragons have long been considered omens of death—reinforced by the skeletal markings on their bodies. They exert a malignant force on the world around them, causing other living things to slowly waste away in their presence. Caligenes favor the seasons of summer and autumn, disappearing entirely from the forests they inhabit during winter and spring. These malevolent dragons are physically weak, though this is countered by their natural stealthiness and alarming speed—enabling them to close in on large targets quickly and silently to create ambushes from which prey cannot escape."

Additional InformationEdit

I wasn't actually aware calligare was a word, I just modified it from caliginous (also of Latin origin and means essentially the same thing...)! XD

~~
So, "a while" ended being "in a few hours" but anyway...some short bits of info XD

The design is based on this species of death's head hawkmoth. :3

They do have four eyes. Caligenes don't like bright light (like sunlight or fire), so they're principally nocturnal. They don't come out during the day unless it's sufficiently dark (for example, heavy canopy that blocks out a lot of the sunlight).

They communicate largely with body language.

Females are a bit taller and a bit more stockily built.

[Sub-Quote: So, this 'malignant force' they give off- is it a conscious thing, or are they sorta radioactive?]
Conscious. :3
