There have been five versions of the Christmas Dragons so far:

  • The red and gold "Holly" dragon released in 2007
  • The red and white "Yulebuck" dragon in 2008
  • The gold and white "Snow Angel" dragon in 2009.
  • The gold, red, and green "Ribbon Dancer" dragon in 2010.
  • The gold, silver, green and red "Winter Magi" dragon in 2011.
  • The red, green and white "Wrapping-Wing" dragon in 2012.

Ribbon Dancers and Snow Angels are female-only dragons, while Yulebucks, Winter Magis and Wrapping-Wings are male-only. When first released, Holly Dragons were also male-only. In 2008, however, the Holly dragons were able to breed more of their kind during Christmas and the resulting offspring were able to become either female or male. To this day Holly dragons are the only Christmas dragon breed with individuals of both genders.

Only two of each Christmas dragon breed are allowed per scroll. None of them have a Breed Specific Action. Since the "rare x rare breeding" got implemented, Christmas dragons are able to reproduce with each other the week surrounding Christmas day. During the course of the year they can breed with common dragons, also these breedings result only in common eggs, but in the time period surrounding Christmas they can result in eggs of the breed of the Christmas dragon parent.
