  • So there's been recent confusion over the current raffle requirement (raise 3 sea serpents) because the on-site Encyclopedia and this wiki disagree on a few breeds. Namely, this wiki lists Thalassa Xenos and Blunas as Sea Serpents, when the site only considers them Wyrms and Amphitheres respectively. TJ has stated that the encyclopedia is authoritative on body types. Perhaps the wiki should be standardized to the site's categories?

    • I'm unfamiliar with how dragons with multiple affinities actually work with the relevant mechanics ingame. But when dozens of users are going to the forums and chatrooms asking why their Bluna isn't counting for the Sea Serpent raffle, and cite the wiki as being their source for that information, and then other people say the Wiki should be updated to reflect the encyclopedia, I think that in and of itself is an issue.

It's exactly the same as morphologies. The primary one is used for mechanics themselves while the secondary is used to provide more of a description of the dragon itself. This is roundabout how TJ described affinities, saying that sometimes one is not enough to best describe a dragon (whether this is from him or spriters, I can't say).

Considering the other half of people, which includes many creators of said dragons, want to have this information available, do you have any suggestions aside from the notices already present on each category page in order to draw more attention to the game only using primary stats for in-game mechanics?

Edit: Found & currently reading the thread on the forum that was cited, my reply there. Honestly I think this has been blown out of proportion given that there is concurrently an error with the site itself as confirmed by TJ on that thread. It was still a good thing to highlight, and the parent morphology category has been updated to contain the same warning as the affinities one. In my opinion, I think this is enough, though we could add warnings elsewhere? If that's the case, any affinity-related material should be updated as well for future-proofing.

  • On some breed pages, there are nicknames listed that nobody actually uses - they may have been used during release when the official name was unknown, but after their names were revealed, I've never seen those nicks used again. For example, "Flare" has not been used for Fever Wyverns, as far as I can tell. They don't fit in with "Vine" or "Marrow", which are still used. May I remove unused nicks? There are a few articles where nicks were taken out due to disuse such as Golden Wyvern, but I thought I'd ask because they're a special case.

    • Yeah those can be removed, it was on my list to do but turned into one of things of "if I see while doing something else I'll get to it". I'm in full agreement with you and no one really objected when brought up a long time ago, so go ahead :)

    • Hi there! This is the DC Wiki, I don't own any particular click site myself. To add your scroll to a click site, you will want to visit that site and use any contact links or details there to get help.

  • Since the update today, I was lucky enough to snag one of the new eggs! Here's the sprite and desc if you need to add it somewhere. I found it in Alpine, and saw one that said something about wind gusting around the egg too. This egg's description is "This little egg is soft with a few feathers stuck to it" (no period after).

    • Also, I was wondering if there was a form or something of the sort to apply for a Bureaucrat/Bureaucrat-like rank? It's totally okay if not!

    • Thanks for posting the egg! Staff positions on here are given to users who edit frequently and become a trusted member to receive the additional tools. To be completely honest, you don't need to be any form of staff to contribute and help on the wiki- simply just editing achieves the same really!

  • Hello! I just noticed that the notifications feature has been updated as I got a notification when my trade offer was accepted: "(username) accepted your offer on their trade. The eggs or hatchlings have been transferred to your account.". I haven't found any information about this on the forums though so I don't know if this is the only update or if there has been more of them. I just thought I'd let you know in case you weren't aware of this already! I also searched through the Wiki but it seems to me that the feature is only mentioned in the category page of the release so I wasn't sure where this update should be added.

    • Hiya! It seems that it's the Notifications feature from that category you linked above that's now been expanded as part of the August release updates by the looks of things. It can just be noted on Currently Being Released (if not already) and will then move into the wiki once the release is completed.

        Loading editor
    • Right, thanks! I'll add it and let's see if someone else knows more already.

  • I would like to be able to Post my dragon eggs here, I came back after so many years and I am looking forward to raise new dragons

      Loading editor
    • Hi and welcome back! You can post your dragons on your User Profile if you want (you'll need to register an account on the wiki to do this), but I'll be honest in saying posting them here won't do much to help your dragons- you'll want to instead use the Click Sites page to find hatching sites for your eggs. Posting your eggs anywhere on the wiki isn't allowed as we're a knowledge base rather than a forum/dedicated hatching site.

  • I was able to gather eggs with 1 day of live and White dragons can ward dragons with less than 3 days, however, the opposite applies to the Red dragon, Vampire dragon and the Pink dragon.

I have both screenshots as proof - premission to post them and add them?

      Loading editor
    • That's brilliant, thanks! For something this small, easiest thing will be to just include a link to your screenshot in the Edit Summary, that way if someone wants to fact check it, it's available there (generally only senior editors do this hence why it's not added to the articles). You'll need to update the Breed Specific Actions and White Dragon pages; did you happen to be able to test if Ward stays on an egg when it's Teleported by any chance?

        Loading editor
    • I haven't. And, alright! At the moment, it's late here so, I might edit it tomorrow.

  • So I was looking at the Zyumorph dragon page because it's the dragon of the month. In the second paragraph it says that the breed has a BSA "Summon" that's different from the Summon BSA for Guardians of Nature. However, when viewing the Breed Specific Actions page (which is linked to when referring to Zyumorph's BSA), the only Summon BSA is the one for Guardians of Nature. I'm just wondering if this is purposeful or not and possibly raising it to your attention.

      Loading editor
    • There's "Summon" and then "Summon (Sinomorph)" down the bottom :P Though it's a good point you raise in that that can be confusing, so I'll edit the other to be "Summon (Guardian of Nature)" to make it more clear.

        Loading editor
    • Oh, I didn’t see the second summon, my apologies.

  • I hope I wasn't being presumptuous, but I went ahead and added a market parameter to the dragon infobox, to display the price of the eggs in the new egg market. I'm working on adding these prices to the relevant pages.

There will be some I cannot add, as I don't have them unlocked.

    • I've undone my edit on the Red and I was about to add the eggs to the CBR page. Though, I apologise for the unauthorized edits that I did.

        Loading editor
    • Thank you for doing so. I'm sorry AnselaJonla, but after the PMs I received on the forum over this issue, I will have to enforce the CBR rules as we do for all users. I know your intentions were good, but you must understand that wikis are community projects- you can't make an edit to a major template on your own without first discussing it with the community and reaching a consensus. We also don't add unconfirmed/assumed information into an article as if it is confirmed on the site either (it's something we've gotten in trouble for in the past for just hosting on CBR even). The bot will revert your edits and the information will go to CBR instead for the time being until everyone is happy with what to do on the infobox, and the market's mechanic is better understood (see site description: "Prices may vary from time to time based on overall demand.").

  • Hey-o, shouldn't Red-Tailed Wyrm Pygmy be just "Red-Tailed Wyrm"? In this case, both Encyclopedia name and breed description do not say "Pygmy".

      Loading editor
    • I considered it but we've had issues in the past before with regards to the morphology being added to the end of the name, and the outcome of that discussion was to try follow the site description above all but otherwise add it in to avoid confusion. I can't remember which article(s) had the edit wars on as I wasn't there for them, but we could always open this up for discussion again?

        Loading editor
    • Ah, sure. I've seen there are some breeds where Encyclopedia and description names differ ("Striped-river Dragon" v. "Striped River Dragon"), but seeing as they're the same here, I thought I'd ask. Unless we get another "Red-Tailed X", at least there won't be confusion what the article is referring to.
