Hi there! This is the DC Wiki, I don't own any particular click site myself. To add your scroll to a click site, you will want to visit that site and use any contact links or details there to get help.
Since the update today, I was lucky enough to snag one of the new eggs! Here's the sprite and desc if you need to add it somewhere. I found it in Alpine, and saw one that said something about wind gusting around the egg too. This egg's description is "This little egg is soft with a few feathers stuck to it" (no period after).
Thanks for posting the egg! Staff positions on here are given to users who edit frequently and become a trusted member to receive the additional tools. To be completely honest, you don't need to be any form of staff to contribute and help on the wiki- simply just editing achieves the same really!
Hello! I just noticed that the notifications feature has been updated as I got a notification when my trade offer was accepted: "(username) accepted your offer on their trade. The eggs or hatchlings have been transferred to your account.". I haven't found any information about this on the forums though so I don't know if this is the only update or if there has been more of them. I just thought I'd let you know in case you weren't aware of this already! I also searched through the Wiki but it seems to me that the feature is only mentioned in the category page of the release so I wasn't sure where this update should be added.
Hiya! It seems that it's the Notifications feature from that category you linked above that's now been expanded as part of the August release updates by the looks of things. It can just be noted on Currently Being Released (if not already) and will then move into the wiki once the release is completed.
Hi and welcome back! You can post your dragons on your User Profile if you want (you'll need to register an account on the wiki to do this), but I'll be honest in saying posting them here won't do much to help your dragons- you'll want to instead use the Click Sites page to find hatching sites for your eggs. Posting your eggs anywhere on the wiki isn't allowed as we're a knowledge base rather than a forum/dedicated hatching site.
That's brilliant, thanks! For something this small, easiest thing will be to just include a link to your screenshot in the Edit Summary, that way if someone wants to fact check it, it's available there (generally only senior editors do this hence why it's not added to the articles). You'll need to update the Breed Specific Actions and White Dragon pages; did you happen to be able to test if Ward stays on an egg when it's Teleported by any chance?
So I was looking at the Zyumorph dragon page because it's the dragon of the month. In the second paragraph it says that the breed has a BSA "Summon" that's different from the Summon BSA for Guardians of Nature. However, when viewing the Breed Specific Actions page (which is linked to when referring to Zyumorph's BSA), the only Summon BSA is the one for Guardians of Nature. I'm just wondering if this is purposeful or not and possibly raising it to your attention.
There's "Summon" and then "Summon (Sinomorph)" down the bottom :P Though it's a good point you raise in that that can be confusing, so I'll edit the other to be "Summon (Guardian of Nature)" to make it more clear.
I hope I wasn't being presumptuous, but I went ahead and added a market parameter to the dragon infobox, to display the price of the eggs in the new egg market. I'm working on adding these prices to the relevant pages.
There will be some I cannot add, as I don't have them unlocked.
Guys we really shouldn't be adding things directly to the wiki; they're still in release stage and need to be sent through Currently Being Released, especially the sprite updates which involve new images that require processing first. Please abide by the CBR rules moving forward from this point and house new release information on Currently Being Released.
Whenever there's a new event, the first thing that needs to be edited is the CBR page...
Thank you for doing so. I'm sorry AnselaJonla, but after the PMs I received on the forum over this issue, I will have to enforce the CBR rules as we do for all users. I know your intentions were good, but you must understand that wikis are community projects- you can't make an edit to a major template on your own without first discussing it with the community and reaching a consensus. We also don't add unconfirmed/assumed information into an article as if it is confirmed on the site either (it's something we've gotten in trouble for in the past for just hosting on CBR even). The bot will revert your edits and the information will go to CBR instead for the time being until everyone is happy with what to do on the infobox, and the market's mechanic is better understood (see site description: "Prices may vary from time to time based on overall demand.").
I considered it but we've had issues in the past before with regards to the morphology being added to the end of the name, and the outcome of that discussion was to try follow the site description above all but otherwise add it in to avoid confusion. I can't remember which article(s) had the edit wars on as I wasn't there for them, but we could always open this up for discussion again?
Ah, sure. I've seen there are some breeds where Encyclopedia and description names differ ("Striped-river Dragon" v. "Striped River Dragon"), but seeing as they're the same here, I thought I'd ask. Unless we get another "Red-Tailed X", at least there won't be confusion what the article is referring to.
It's best to only fill in a page if you have the complete entry, as it's hard to tell on the wiki whether it's complete or not. I've gone through and added an additional notice so when the entry can be completed, it can be removed, but in future it's best to enter it once fully unlocked.
You'll want to wait for the page, it will be up soon as there are just a few more processes I have to run the bot on before I can start adding them to the rest of the wiki. (If you're ever wondering whether I'm active, you can go into Recent Activity and select to "Show bot edits" which will show you what my bot is working on in the background. You'll see why it's hidden by default, it will flood your activity feed.)
Ah okay awesome, I'll update the article to reflect this then! New dragons should be up this afternoon (internet in the house is terrible today so I have to add them from work).
Well it's an extra account you have and run software on it so it can do semi-auto or auto edits. Before using on a wiki, you'll need to consult with the wiki's community to ensure they are comfortable with the person who's wanting to run it, as they can be dangerous with inexperienced users. Once the community approves, you contact Wikia who then add a Bot flag to the account and you can then start using it. I mostly use AWB on mine but I also have some other custom scripts for odd jobs like file renaming.
Hello! I'm sorry if I make mistakes when editing, this platform is all new to me. Now this may seem like nitpicking but I was wondering how the terms variant, variety and variation are used in the wiki for different colours (or other types) of some dragons. It's no bick deal but I became confused as I saw that the word used varied from page to page and was a bit unsure what would be the correct choice. :)
Another thing, I'm definitely not criticising here, but what is the reason for Xenos to all have their own articles while the Zyus share one article?
Hi and welcome to the wiki! Don't worry at all, we all have to start somewhere and I'm always here to help if you need it :)
Honestly, there's never been a discussion on an official usage, it's usually at discretion. Variety is rarely used (by me anyway), whereas variant is usually when singling out a specific single type and variation is talking about them in general (variation can be used for a single item or multiple items depending on the context). Does this help at all?
Originally the Xeno's were all on one article but after a discussion with the spriter, it was revealed that they considered them to be separate species, and sub-species of Wyrms in general (you can read more on Category:Xenowyrms). This differs to the concept of the Zyumorph which not only shares all of its descriptions, from egg to adult, but has had its spriter say it is a single breed (you can read more on the Additional Information section of Zyumorph Dragon).
Ah, okay. I felt like I quite couldn't form a picture in my mind of the usage of those three words here. As a non-native English speaker it's always difficult to get nuances like this right, but it's good to know that there isn't any agreement of how the words should be used when referring to different things.
For the Xenos, that made it much clearer! Separating them sounds very logical now. I remember having read that they are a sub-species of Wyrms but I had completely forgotten that and I'm not sure if I actually processed that information even in the first place, haha.
