Moonstone Dragons were released alongside Sunstone Dragons on 18th of July 2011, in a release called "Desert Sands". Next to the Sunstone Dragons they are one of the first two dragon races that were released into specific habitats. Moonstone Dragons also share their egg description with the Sunstone Dragons. They are common and currently have no breed specific action. There was once a typo in the adult's description.

Moonstones are notably the second non-holiday dragon species which features feathered wings, the first being White Dragons.

"Moonstone dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow in with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moon's power."

Kuraianubis stated in this forum post, that she finished the Moonstone dragons nearly a year before they got released into the cave. It's also her first nonholiday release.
