Moonstone Dragons were released on July 18, 2011, alongside Sunstone Dragons during the "Desert Sands" release. Along with Sunstones, they are one of the first two dragon species that were released into specific habitats. Moonstone Dragons also share their egg description with the Sunstone Dragons.
Moonstones are notably the second non-holiday dragon species which features feathered wings, the first being White Dragons.
Official Dragon DescriptionsEdit
"This egg resembles a glowing stone."
"Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. It seems to sleep during the day and, glow when it wakes up at night."

And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing."
"Moonstone dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow in with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moon's power."

- The original idea for a moon and sun stone-based dragon came from a different user posting the suggestion on the forum. By the time anyone came to work on the idea, the original user had long since left DC, and the topic was split into the two different dragons; Moonstone and Sunstone.
- When initially released, the adult description contained a typo.
- Kuraianubis revealed that she had finished the Moonstone dragons nearly a year before they got released into the cave.
