Nocturne Dragons were released on the 15th of January alongside Canopy Dragon, Electric Dragons and Two-Finned Bluna dragons. They are considered common dragons. They currently have no breed specific action and can be found as normal cave drops. Nocturne dragons are the only dragon breed to have a changing sprite. The type of dragon you get does not depend on what time it hatches; hatchling and adult sprites change between two forms based upon the time of day. The stonelike "Day form" takes effect at 6am Eastern Standard Time (EST) and the lively "Night form" can be seen after 6pm EST.

It was said on the first Cave Cast that Nocturne dragons give each other gifts of food, shiny objects, and treasure, so they often mate for life. They are also supposed to be very good parents.

On 25 May 2010, the Night form of the Nocturne received a dimorphic update. At first there was a glitch displaying both genders with the new female sprite, but this was quickly rectified.

Official Dragon DescriptionEdit

EggEdit

"This egg appears to be made of limestone."

HatchlingEdit

"Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. You find it odd that the hatchling doesn't move at all during the day, but at night its colors change and it is full of energy."

Mature HatchlingEdit

"Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. You find it odd that the hatchling doesn't move at all during the day, but at night its colors change and it is full of energy. And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing."

AdultEdit

"Nocturne dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camoflague to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior."
