Snow Dragons, or Holiday 2016 Dragons, are the all-male Holiday dragon released during the Holidays of 2016. As a limited-release dragon, they are only capable of producing more Snow eggs during a brief period when the Holidays are celebrated in December. They can still be bred to all year round, producing the female's breed of egg. Each scroll is limited to 2 cave-born dragons of this breed, like all other Holiday dragons.
Under breed sort, these dragons sort as "Holiday Dragon (2016)" on a user's scroll.

This egg is surrounded by frost.
Hatchling[]
Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s fairly playful.
Mature hatchling[]
Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s fairly playful.
And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
Adult[]
Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Encyclopedia entry[]
Appearance/Basic Anatomy
- Have flat, broad feet and are fairly lightweight, allowing them to walk over deep snow. Their feet have only short, blunt claws.
- Their tails have stiff golden fur that they use to draw designs in snow.
- The frost patterns on their wings and bodies are unique to each dragon.
- Hatchlings remain completely white, except for their fur and antlers, until maturity.
Hatchling Behavior
- Older hatchlings will watch over younger ones and protect them.
- They are adept at mimicking every noise they hear.
- They dislike warmth, and will stay outside even on the coldest days.
- They like to freeze the tops of lakes and rivers and prance over the ice.
Adult Behavior
- They can breathe ice, not fire.
- Adult dragons tend to be solitary or travel in mated pairs or small family units.
- Those in colder climates have a single, fairly large territory, while those who live in more temperate climates will migrate north for the summer to avoid warm temperatures.
- They tend to be very quiet. They rarely vocalize and their wings make little noise.
- They will mimic other creatures in order to comfort a creature lost and to help guide it home or guide others of its kind to it.
- Mating rituals start in late Autumn, and last about two months. The female chooses the male who can create the most intricate designs in snow and ice, and ice dances are also used to win a females favor.
- They do not hoard shiny objects, and will gift those they find.
- They can be protective of creatures who live in their territory, and normally do not hunt, preferring to dine on vegetation.
Habitat
- Can thrive anywhere it is cold, but they prefer climes that are always cold.
Diet
- They are mostly herbivores, and love berries.
- They can dig through ice on a lake or river to catch fish.
- Since food is very scarce in the very far northern and southern climes, dragons living there gorge during the warm months and fast during the cold months.
Trivia[]
- Snow Dragons have a tendency towards being playful and caring towards others but their personalities differ a little depending on the dragon.[1]
- These were the first Christmas dragons to receive unique hatchling descriptions.
Additional information[]
- Regarding their snow pattern mating behavior:
“
- They tend to be pretty complex, and take a while to complete - they start trying to woo their mates in late Fall when the air and ground turn frosty (so their patterns won't melt), and this sometimes goes until the first snowfall or a bit after, depending on the region (but always done before the holidays).
Hatchlings will make drawings, I imagine those would look like my drawing skills, too.
