Thunder Dragons were released alongside Ice and Magma Dragons on the 22nd of November 2009. They are rare and, when united with at least one Magma and Ice dragon, have a breed specific action called Summon that unites their powers to make a Guardian of Nature egg.

Since the Rare x Rare breeding got added, they are able to breed with other Thunder Dragons, or any other Rare Dragons. They also have been seen to have been bred with Guardian, Purple, Gray, Water, Electric, Canopy and Black Dragons, producing a Thunder Dragon egg.

There is a Thunder Dragon with the code tJ09.

Together with the Magma and Ice Dragons they form the "Legendary Trio".

"Thunder dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds.
