New Lumina Dragon Sprite Discovered

Hello there,

this new sprite was dicovered by a wiki-user (scroll name Lunirata , thank you so much for adding this! *hugs and kisses to you*) who mentioned on the Lumina article, that after breeding their Lumina Dragon to a Turpentine Dragon, the Lumina changed its color.

Information about this phenomenon:

Lumina dragons change color for 24 hours after they are bred to:

Although they will not change color if there is a refusal.

This is a reaction to the mildy toxic oil of the Turpentines and the gelatinous goo of the Waterhorses with which they are covered with. The Luminas remove their scales in order to get rid of the oil/goo from the Turpentines and Waterhorses, so their color changes to reflect their scaleless body. (As the Luminas' description states that, "if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they'll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last.")

Bred eggs of a Lumina x Turpentine/Waterhorse couple are not affected by this and hatch as ordinary Luminas.

Artist information:

Corteo, their creator posted here saying:

"Just wanted to thank the users for this awesome idea with posts like this http://forums.dragcave.net/index.php?showt...dpost&p=6277627 xD

Also, a big thank you to TJ for adding this in.

Also, I didn't say this, but don't stop playing around with stuff yet
"

About the Luminas also reacting to the harmless goo of the Waterhorses, Corteo stated on this post, that:

"Well the Luminas don't react to the acid in the Turp oil, they just shed because they find it digusting and detracting from their beauty. :)"
