Water Dragons, or Light Blue Dragons, are one of the site's original species that were released in 2006. Water dragons can produce Shallow Water Dragons and Two-Finned Blunas if bred with Magi Dragons or Skywing Dragons respectively.
Water dragons were originally known as Light Blue dragons, and this name was used for Breed sort on scrolls until an update on August 16, 2016 changed them to sort under "Water Dragon". The alternative name "lake dragon" also exists, though their eggs now can only be found in the Coast; this nickname was used during a time when biomes did not exist on the site.
Official descriptions[]
Egg[]
This egg is sitting in a shallow puddle.
Hatchling[]
Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. It enjoys swimming in a nearby pond.
Mature hatchling[]
Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. It enjoys swimming in a nearby pond.
Its fins and tail have gotten bigger, and you've moved it to a larger body of water to swim in.
Adult[]
When a water dragon matures, it loses almost all use of its legs as well as its ability to survive on land and enters the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They usually stay in the same lake their entire life, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Encyclopedia entry[]
Appearance/Basic Anatomy
- One primary set of fins near the front of the dragon.
- Barbels on the face help the dragon find food in deep or murky water.
- A dorsal fin runs the entire length of the body.
- Females have a forked tail fin, while males do not.
- Eyes are similar to that of land dragons, but have more spherical lenses, like those of fish.
Hatchling Behavior
- Slither around like snakes while on the ground.
- Try to keep their scales moist when out of water.
- Swimming skills are shaky at first, but they are quick learners.
- Hatchlings rarely find their own food—they are usually led to (or given) fish by elders.
- Born with lungs, capable of breathing on land.
Adult Behavior
- Live in small groups, all adults take part in raising young.
- Oceanic dragons are rarely bothered by other alpha predators (e.g. sharks).
- Breed sparingly to prevent contention for food; if bred to a non-water-bound partner, the partner will often transport the egg to a different body of water.
- Very loyal to their specific pack.
Habitat
- Can live in large fresh-water lakes.
- Habitat seems to be a matter of community preference—groups will migrate.
- Many make a habitat out of the oceans.
- Fresh water dragons may leave a lake and travel to the ocean, but only in search of another fresh-water body.
Diet
- Seem to particularly enjoy consuming sea-bees. Will eat the entire hive at once.
- Primarily eat small- or medium-sized aquatic creatures, namely fish.
Trivia[]
- The original adult sprite is a recolored Sea Dragon from Final Fantasy II.
- During the Dimorphism update on March 26, 2010, both genders received an update.
- On Pokémon Night, Water dragons were changed to show the sprite of the Pokémon Gyarados, a Water/Flying type Pokémon that appears as a serpentine Chinese dragon.
- It is unknown whether the Water dragon has the same appendages as the Deep Sea Dragon or if it looks more like a basic lindwyrm, but with fins instead of claws.
